Bone Grafts and Ridge Augmentations in the Catskill Mountains
There is sometimes a need to do grafting procedures when their is not enough hard and soft tissue present. This can be caused by periodontal disease or during a surgical tooth extraction.
The procedure involves isolating the defect, cleaning the area of bacteria and laying the bone grafting materials and necessary collagen membranes to support the growth and healing process.
This treatment is often done at the time of tooth extraction and called a “socket preservation” procedure in which bone particles and precursors are used to stimulate bone growth in the extracted tooth socket allowing for the placement of implant in a large quality of bone allowing for better success of the overall implant.
Bone grafting or bone augmentation is also completed at the time of implant placement if available bone is not sufficient to support the implant. Different techniques can be used to complete this and types of bone cements, putties and allografts are used.
Our team has been providing bone grafts and ridge augmentations to the Sullivan County and Hudson Valley for many years.
